Originally booked on AA 53 tonight (Thursday) TLV-MIA in Y using AA miles. Received notice this morning that flight is cancelled and I’ve been rescheduled to AA TLV-MIA on Friday night. I found J space on TK Saturday night instead and will stay a night on Hilton points tonight. What is the process for claiming compensation (statutory and meals and accommodations) from AA. Must I do so prior to processing the cancellation and award redeposit? Is comp certain enough that it would make sense to take a paid hotel stay over an award stay? Does it matter that the award ticket is fully refundable in any event?
AA replied by email to my request for compensation under Israel statute offering me a choice of $1,000 USD travel voucher or 3,180 ILS cash payment. They also asked me to send in receipts for reimbursement of incidental expenses.

Random: United takes off a 2% conversion fee (without saying a word, but the difference between the check amount and conversion rate on day check was issued is 2% missing) when paying the mandatory ILS 3180.

Been following United flights for the summer and the fares are quite high over $1500 for many dates, is this the new normal?

Probably the most simple question answer and been asked a million times but if I book one segment on points and then one flight segment on $$$ with United, will I have a problem with them transferring my bags?

Booked one reservation a ticket to Madrid, then booked a separate reservation flying later that day out of Madrid. Is there a way to connect the baggage so that I don’t have to collect? Same airline. (Iberia)

Non-drivers ID and Driver's license is equivalent and is good for domestic travel until they implement "RealID".

How?  They didn't card you at any time during checkin?

Not sure your point, but non-drivers ID can also be real Id

Official policy from TSA you can fly if you "forgot" your ID

Is a 2-hour self-connect with baggage doable in AUH at 1am?

EDIT: looks like the airlines in question interline so it should be good then.

I believe that you will have to enter as an Israeli national, not a US citizen.
