I had a capital one travel credit for approx $300, I reached out to capital one travel to make a new flight booking using my travel credit, the flight I wanted was approx $500 round trip (with united airlines), the agent I spoke to was very slow and kept on putting me on hold, at some point he told me that the total for the flight I wanted is around $420 and that after using my travel credit I would need to pay the $120 balance, I agreed, waited on hold, the call got disconnected, a couple of minutes later I get a call back but after 2 seconds the call goes dead, this was late at night, so I gave up and went to bed.
I wake up in the morning to an email from United airlines with a ticketed flight! The total cost for the flight as per the united confirmation email is $338 " Payment method Miscellaneous Document Cash " in smaller letters further down on the email it said "Payment Info, Remaining value of your previous ticket numbers 0168093098487, 0168093098485 was applied to this purchase".
When logging onto capital one travel portal, no sign of any existing booking and the credit seems to still be available for future use...
I contacted united to request a different seat and they took care of my request, no issues, it was ticketed, do I need to worry that something may go wrong?
