Anyone have a good explanation of why amazon gift cards (or really most gift cards) are being sold for way more than their face value? For example. I saw someone selling (and people bidding on) a $100 amazon gift card for $118. Am I missing something?
Some possible reasons...1) Person in Europe want to buy products off US Amazon but don't want to deal with credit card or banking currency conversion fees or the address verification.2) Person would like to purchase an item from Amazon anonymously3) Person has an ebay or paypal discount code so he really end up paying less than face value
1) Amazon US ships to EU?2) If they're having it shipped to themselves, how would it be anonymous with a GC?I still think it's hard to explain how this happens so often on eBay.
When there was bing cashback, there was a simple explanation.
I always buy Amazon gift cards for a few bucks more than face value. Ever since I was banned from Amazon, it is the only way I can buy from them. I have all the stuff shipped to my next door neighbor so that they won't know it's me.
Off topic:Nu, so what did you do to get banned? (we don't want to make the same mistakes)
My local grocery stores all sell Amazon GCs at a discount.
Any bigger chain stores in NY/NJ as well? I would love to find some as well.
