What do you gain by 3x200 vs 2x 200. You can buy without a discount at staples everyday

My thought was it comes out to something like $1.50 for 600 = 3k points (assuming Ink for my purposes). That's 2k ppd.
Even though you're spending a little money (1.50), instead of making a few times that on the negative price of the sale (394 or so for 2x200 + fees - $20 = +$6 +2k points), you'll likely never get as good a value with that $6 as you can now on that $1.50. When this sale runs out, it's back to $7 or so for your 200 VGC. So while you're getting a (definitely good) deal with not spending any money for your points now, it seems to me you get more value overall by doing those later purchases now.
(Hence why I said someone who has access to lots of 200s, which is probably very few people on this forum lol)

You can take the same 7 dollars and use it next week or at staples to get the same points

Was at Levittown OM today. They have a ton of $200 VGCs just languishing on the shelf. They refused...absolutely, no ifs, ands, or buts to let me pay with CC. Claimed it was because of "fraud".

Yup, which is why I was glad that I called before going out there.

We just got another shipment of $200 cards here in AZ stores....this might be obvious, but recheck to see if they have been resupplied. Just went on a buying binge.

IME, it's a lot easier to buy large amounts at OD, as all they have to do is scan the back of the package of the vanillas. At OM, they have to peel off the strip over the bar code each time. Cashiers at OM get pretty stressed when they see a pile.

And it's a pain to peel off the sticker

Are the variable amount ones eligible($20-$500)? I know they can't be brought with a cc but are they eligible?

Dunno, but I just realized that I would know if it was eligible before I paid, is that correct?

It's more than just a few... $15.05 profit per card times let's say 4 cards, and redeemed to my red card on the way home... $60.20 for 20 min of time, would do that any day...(it's $180 an hour, I don't get paid that much!)

Except that there is a redcard opportunity cost to consider

Except that the minimum profit would be something like $7, with 1x200 = $7 fee, and 1x100=$6 fee, leaving you with $7 bonus from the $20 (less really because of tax).

For what I was saying before about the highest value purchasing, I'd have to have a math major help me think it out. Depends on when you're going to spend it, how many purchases you can do during the sale, etc. Don't have the head for that level of detail thinking, and not worth the effort anyways since everyone's getting a great deal on this regardless.

1) we are talking about the variable load ones which have a flat $4.95 fee even for $300 (hence the $15.05 profit)
2) there is no tax involved
3)obviously if the fixed amount ones were available near me I would be buying those with a cc
