Continental OnePass Plus 50K after 1st use targeted Offer
« Reply #560 on: August 01, 2011, 03:38:15 PM »
I received the following offer:
The OnePass® Plus Card is the smart choice, especially now that we have added a host of new travel benefits. Earn 50,000 bonus miles (2) after you use the Card the first time — enough for two round-trip reward tickets. Plus, you'll get the $95 annual fee waived your first year as a Cardmember.

On the T&C #2 is:
2. BONUS MILES: With this bonus offer you will receive 50,000 bonus miles. You will qualify and receive your bonus after your first use of the Card. First use includes using your account for purchases or balance transfers, or using any checks that access your account; cash advances are not included. After qualifying, please allow 6–8 weeks for bonus miles to post to your account. This one-time bonus offer is valid only for first-time Continental Airlines personal Cardmembers with new accounts. Previous and existing Continental Airlines personal Cardmembers/accounts are not eligible for this bonus offer.

I am asking for opinions. Will this offer work for me if I recently closed my Chase Continental card in march? Assuming most advise to apply, should I apply with my old Continental account number or do I apply with that field blank and hope they generate a new one?

Thanks to all of you in advance!

The page is showing 30k

Applied on July 19 for the Continental Card. The page showed 30k. Sent an SM on July 27 asking to be matched to the 50k offer, got a response this morning (August 1) saying they added the extra 20k. :)

Did you happen to apply for the United as well? If so any luck on the match?

Has anyone tried to apply for the targeted offer of OnePass® Plus Card 50K after previously having a chase continental card?

Does it work?

If you have had a CO credit card under that same mileage number in the past you won't get it again.

New Chase policy? Do you recommend a new FFN or just to leave the FFN blank?

Been that way for years now.  Leaving it blank works often, but why risk it?

NP, if the targeted offer is for a CO account that had the bonus in the past then the safest bet is to open a new account, use the 30K link, and then it get matched to the 50K offer.

Thank you again! I am slowly picking up the details of how each of these work. This site you have created is an unbelievable resource.

I also got targeted for the 50k, is the 30k than asking to match to 50k the surest bet for a previous card holder?

does anyone have the united 50k linky?

If you go for the United offer as well and then match to the 50K offer, you can combine the miles on one program down the line and you have 100K miles in one program. You can also transfer your Sapphire points down the line to Continental/United and have now built a nice points balance in one place.
