The Mileathon. There was some discussion about waiting 6-months between chase applications, but I think it's BS.

For Chase time between apps is either 30 days or 6 months, depending on if the reviewing computer is a PC or Mac or some other nonsense.

Why use the targeted one if there's a generic linky?

Do you mean that creating a new onepass account can avoid the fact that someone has a Continental credit card before?

I have onepass credit card about two years ago, but not 'onepass plus'. Do they consider those two cards the same one?

There is a new and improved continental airlines oneplass plus credit card offer. It's for 50k miles after the first purchase. There is a waiver for the first year of the $85 annual fee. Also there is the usual point accumulation 2 miles per dollar spent on continental flights and $1 per dollar spent on all other purchases etc. Anyway here is the link for the offer http://www.continental.com/web/en-US/content/products/chase/continental.aspx?&offer=OPP50

Dan I'm surprised if you can't get it. I don't know any tricks of the trade and they just did it. Maybe it helps that I just just opened the card. At this point I see it is bashert that I was not able to upgrade my card to the PP fee-waived card(had to apply and waiting for an answer) , had I done that I'm fairly certain I would not have the extra 20k.

I know in the past I've gotten Chase to match offers, but it's still unclear if this is targeted as it's not publicly on CO.com yet.
Either way you just got 30K+20K+$50 cash back by doing it that way!

My wife also got the email yesterday so she signed up and got approved on the spot! I myself was approved for the card a month and a half ago for 30k and $50 credit so i called up and they submitted a request through the marketing division for the additional 20k. They said i should receive a decision by mail 5-7 business days.

You can also try submitting the request online with a link to the 50k offer.

it is targeted, however I and my wife both got the offer via email from continental. I forwarded the link to some friends and they were approved. Hope this helps.

Seems to me though that you may be better off applying for 30K and $50 cash back and then emailing to get the other 20K.
