I had the same issue, In Brooklyn you are allowed to capture them live. If You do not want them to come back you must move them over a highway or across a water so they do not come back

There is a powder that you can put down, its very effective. Its kind of like itching powder for cats and that'll get them to leave.

I dont know the name of it off hand

Don't feed them . Don't let any food be set out, or be available for them on your property.

They are in the neighborhood. Once 1-2 ppl do leave food out, its game over. They will just hang out and go from house to house and stay local. Its a major PITA and the town can only do so much. #goinghunting

I've used black pepper. Whole black pepper not ground pepper. It helps but it's annoying to constantly being to put it out after every rain etc....
Good luck!

Motion detect sprinklers. Cats hate water and you will have a green lawn and garden.
I just found a new supply of forks!

So here's the story. We have a very GENEROUS neighbor who has RACHMUNUS on the local cats and he not only allows them his garbage but actually buys cat food and is busy feeding them. The amount of feral cats in the neighborhood is growing exponentially by the day. This guy is obviously no racist and he allows whichever cat wants to "join the crowd". I may have been able to put up with this alone, but...

At night the cats for some reason can't sleep to well and they fight and cry loudly all night. It's disturbing and at times even wakes up my kids. (Many times I had to run to my kids' bedrooms to check if it wasn't them crying...) I may have been able to put up with this alone, but...

The man who feeds them is a total madman. I don't know what gets him started, whether a cat's scratch or if they just don't want to eat what he offers them, but he can begin yelling and screaming at the top of his lungs, cursing and hollering non-comprehendible words. This happens even 3:00, 4:00 and 5:00 in the morning. He awakes all the neighbors and my children are terrorized by the guy. may (???) have been able to put up with this alone, but...

Today it reached a point where it cannot be allowed to continue. The other day my wife switched the seat in our carriage to a bassinet to accommodate our newly born 3-week old baby. Today she came out of the house with the kids and headed toward the fully covered carriage to put in the baby, removed the cover, and.......
OMG!!! She jumped back 10 feet, while the cat in the beautiful, once clean bassinet had the chutzpah to not even budge! To describe it modestly, the bassinet is now covered in cat-hairs...  :'( Now go put a newborn in there...
I have had ENOUGH !!!!!
>:(  >:(  >:(  >:(  >:(  >:(

I am looking for a solution to get rid of them. I found a couple of solutions through googling. Among others, acetaminophen (Tylenol), antifreeze, milk diluted with bleach and sugar, among plants, the sago palm (even more so, its seeds)...
I am going to put an end to this! The question is just how.
Any suggestions?

ASPCA?  Police for disturbance at 4 am?
I like the motion detect sprinklers to keep them off your property.

If I'm gonna take things into my own hands... then I'd rather keep it off records. Like someone told me that if you call 311 in NYC for them to remove a tree, they won't remove it; rather, they then put a watch on the tree and lurk for you to commit the "crime" of chopping a tree so they can fine you (IIRC $10,000 + the costs of planting a new one)... This is a scenario I'd prefer to avoid.

I like the motion detect sprinklers to keep them off your property.
I'm just a renter, cannot install anything on the lot.
 :(

There's this thing with sticks and orange string on it. Cats are superstitious about it and dont pass them. Or something like that. I've only seen it but not sure if it works
