To clarify, GE and Nexus are 2 separate things completely. GE is to help you get in to the US faster and Nexus is to help you go into Canada faster.
The Amex Plat reimburse for either the $100 for GE or the $50 for Nexus.

I believe when reporting on the business platinum that has first year  fees waved the doctorofcredit or frequentmiler (can't remember which it was) pointed out the authorized users do receive their own benefits (global entry and airline credit ect)
