I called the number on the back of my gift cards and the representative activated it immediately, no reference ticket or nothin! Of course, the receipt with the gift cards didn't mention needing activation, I only figured it out after trying to make a walmart purchase and the gift card wouldn't work.
Which number did you call?

I tried the link from the email. The first time it seemed like it worked, but the card still wasn't activated even days later. Now if I click that link again it says "Gift Card has already been sent for activation".

I called the number on the back of the card (888-537-5503), and there's no option to activate, or even talk to anyone. Once I get to the point where I've put in the GC#, it tells me the card is inactive. That's as far as I get.

I also called the regular Sams Club CS number (888-746-7726), and a rep told me they were opening a ticket to activate it. But it's days later and the GC is still not active.

Any help would be appreciated.

I was a Sams Club "trial member" recently when I created an account to buy a Sams Club gift card. When I log in, it asks me to renew rather than sign up. Will I be able to use the Living Social voucher? It says it can only be used on new members.

use a different email address

Simple as that, I suppose.

The other thing I was considering was just creating multiple new SC accounts with different emails and slight variations of my name (and wife's name). I have 10 more AMEX cards I want to use for SC.  Do you think I can create enough new account trial memberships for 5 transactions so I can avoid membership?

Can you use a single trial membership to make all five purchases?

IME I got the trial membership, did a purchase, then several hours later when I tried another purchase it said that the trial expired already.

Update: gift of membership cards are just regular $45 gift cards, they are easier to activate too. Make sure you order it to a tax free state, since you will not get the tax value added to the card.

Has this been confirmed?

Which part? I had to pay tax, but I've used them without any issues at all. Activated them with the link in the original email.

Has anybody done this?

I used one trial account to do 7 orders, I think. I did 'em pretty quickly, though not insanely fast, and they were all fine.

I haven't found the part about them being easier to activate to be true.
