i am considering a trip this summer, and transaero is not on the poll list, but is the cheapest by a few hundred. does that mean they are ok? or they are below standard so they don't even deserve to be in the equation? any advice appreciated...

There's only 5 slots in the poll, i listed the 5 most popular.

If transaero will save you 100's then go for it.

in all honesty though, ive yet to experience something really crazy bad on behalf of elal, and ive flown with them dozens of times. as much as i protest, my wife insists on flying with a sheital and never once had an issue

 the only really bad experience ive had was on usair biz to tlv and qantas biz to dfw.

the poll merely represents the favorite jewish pastime of blasting elal, whether deserved or not. i dont think theres another topic that gets jews so excited...

(all this refers to the airline itself. with regards to the passengers who fly said airline, well thats a different story altogether...)

How bad is transaero? I have seen mostly terrible reviews on line. Was not planning on flying them even though they are several hundred dollars less than anyone else. Experiences? From NY-TLV through Moscow.

Flew TLV to BRU in business.
Seats are a little wider and recline a bit more than coach (and 3x the price).
Problem: the seat was shaking like a table with a shorter leg.
I changed seat, but they were all the same.
It was unbearable, I downgraded myself to coach.
I did NOT bother complain. We are talking about Israelis here....
