For people who don't go to restaurants, don't travel, don't MS, and have no use for primary CDW, I think the calculus is entirely different.

In such a case, I'd probably suggest the EDP.

Why not Citi double cash on that situation?

Its not a bad card, considering no AF, but I don't think 2% Cashback is worth more than:

Airfare:1.5x
Restaurants:1.5x
Gas:3.0x
Groceries:4.5x
Everyday spend:1.5x

Even so, I'd pick the fidelity 2% due to it being an Amex.

Well we said the person in that case won't travel and doesn't eat out... I guess 3x gas and 4.5 groceries could potentially tip it though.

AMEX PRG -  $195 AF
3x on flight
2x on *U.S.* Restaurants, Gas, Groceries
Random: $100 airline credit

Chase SP - $95 AF
2x on travel + dining
Random: Primary Rental Insurance
Only Chase SP has primary CDW coverage.

Incorrect. All Amex cards have primary CDW as well, it officially costs $25, but you can rent the car on your Amex card and if nothing happens to the car (so you don't need to come onto the primary CDW), you can switch the card upon returning the car and pay using a different card.

IMO, if something does happen to the car, Amex insurance is a lot easier to deal with than Chase insurance (yes, I'm talking from experience of dealing with crashes with Amex and Chase SP).

So we also need to stay off the road when Dr. Moose is driving?

although I do have my fair share of accidents with rental cars, I have a lot more experience helping all my friends who call me frantically after smashing up a rental car.

Do these calculations take into account cards that reward you for hitting large spending thresholds like sw? That's always my issue with divvying up my purchases onto dozens of cards, that I don't allow any one card to accumulate a large balance.
Don't wait for the perfect moment; take the moment and make it perfect.

The $100 airline credit and the benefits of SBS and Amex Offers can make it worthwhile.

SBS ... if you have 10 AUs
$175 AF - $100 airline credit = $75

Going on the SBS offer from last year, you only need 2.5 cards to cover yourself.
