CPU usage of which process?
if you mean in the left hand corner it says the total process then its 66 ( i doubt you mean that but just in cases)
and in general i dont notice which process specifically jumps up just the total cpu usage

Does it spike for a second or go up and stay up?

If it stays up you can see which process it is in the Processes tab of 'Task Manager'.

no it usually doesnt spike for a super long time and i know the numbers are up because i look at the process tab in task manager. I usuallly notice my internet is a little alower then normal then i check and i see its high. Do u know of any one specific process that could be killing the cpu usage when opened? Can i cut and copy my list and pm it to you? please

You can PM it to me, but a short spike to 40% is nothing to complain about. I'll bet it's a Flash app or a JS-heavy site (e.g. gmail, facebook etc.).

If you click on the arrow in the processes tab it can sort them from highest to lowest.

I don't think its that big of a secret, just post a screenshot. (why the PMs?) Also, which browser do you use? How many tabs do you keep open? Does your firewall allow background connections?

The pm was not for secrecy but rather for convenience no need to bother everyone like that. Also I usually use chrome and sometimes I have a lot of tabs open but not always. Whatever thank u all for your help
