Why don't you mention the song "father"? IMO it's the best song on the album. MBD's voice is so clear and fresh. The lyrics are brilliant (I don't understand how Lipa can sometimes be so brilliant, and sometimes so foolish?).

It is a good song, with a very pretty melody. But it is quite personal, and didn't really do much for me. I'm not exactly walking around humming a song about David Werdiger. I dunno, I just didn't really know what to do with it, so I left it out.

Lipa is a master lyricist, and fantastically creative musically too. IMHO, he loses his brilliance when he tries too hard to be what he is not. Lipa the badchan is fantastic, Lipa the Hassidic Lady Gaga is cringetastic.

Dont know anything about the CD. What does Lipa have to do with it? is he featured in it or did he compose it?

Lipa wrote the lyrics to the song about Reb David Werdyger. It's beautiful.

Did you read the long article in the jacket explaining all the lyrics? It became my favorite, only after reading that.
Also, a big portion is about David Werdiger - the holocaust survivor, which is something personal to all of us.

Very rarely does a song move me every time I hear it. This song does. (The last song I can remember to do that for me, is Benny Friedman's Besheim Hashem/Lo Sira, whis is IMHO the best Jewish song of the decade.)

Lipa has some slow songs where he evokes emotion in a way which to me is incomparable to others.
I'm thinking off hand of his song about the עשרה הרוגי מלכות and Yaakov burying rochel
I know they are old and he likes/prefers his new style but those are just wow (IMHO)

What are people listening to thats good?
Sometime during sefira they put Tzvi Silberstein Voice of the Stars on Spotify and I am really impressed with it.  It is very well done.  The track with mbd is great and a special shoutout to Kesser which he sings with ohad.  The two of them just keep going higher and higher and have these really high harmonies.  He even manages to keep up with lipa in his lipa style song.

I'm really enjoying Noam Michael's Bein Adam L'adam. If your a fan of Chanan Ben Ari's music, he wrote a lot of the songs. Very fullof meaning and inspiring.
