Was the music part of the concert live, or pre-recorded?
See the conversation here. Seems it was recorded a week in advance.

One of the most moving songs I've ever heard.

Eli Levin with an emotional new single and music video Afikomen for the upcoming 3rd yartzeit of his brother Yisroel Levin who was killed in a tragic car accident with his kallah Elisheva Kaplan a"h

Lyrics by Motty Ilowitz / Arranged by Doni Gross

One of the most moving songs I've ever heard.
Just a word of explanation.

Three years ago on Chol Hamoed Pesach, Yisroel Levin and his Kallah, Elisheva Kaplan, were killed in a horrific crash on the Nassau Expressway in Inwood. At the levaya, his father stood up and said, "We take our father's afikomon, but when he asks for it back, we give it back with love. And we also have the opportunity to ask for something in return." He then asked that 10,000 shidduchim be completed in Klal Yisroel in return for the "afikomon" that he just gave back - a request that was the catalyst for a shidduchim-related organization he subsequently founded.

Master composer and lyricist Motti Illowitz took that anecdote and turned it into a moving song, which is performed by singer Eli Levin, the brother of Yisroel Levin a"h.

I just wish there was a longer english part. He put in that one part at the end but would've been nice to do it a couple of times to be able to actually sing it for the people not fluent in yiddish.

BUMP

*RANT ALERT*

I hate these people who produce a "Sefira CD" that has just a bunch of people singing, and charge $15 for it. Can it be justified to charge the same amount as an album that has full music (which is the most expensive part of the production)? And many of these albums sound horrible. There's a great one liner that sums it up: " Sefira albums are the only type of albums that a guy could wake up in the morning and decide to put one out, and have it completely finished before he goes to sleep. And from the way that many of them sound nowadays, it seems like that's exactly what happened!" Listen up producers: it takes more talent to put out a good acapella album then it takes to put out a good music album. On an acapella album, you can't hide behind the music. If you don't have the talent to create beautiful harmonies and whatever else you need to make a nice Sefira album, please turn over and go back to sleep. Thank you.

I would like to just include a (partial) list of Sefira albums that I really do enjoy, who I think did do a great job.
Around the Campfire - Miami
Kumzitz in the Rain 1 & 2 - Doni Gross
Lev Tahor 1 & 3
Soul 2 & 3 - Ari Goldwag (#1 had too much fake music for my liking)
Heimishe Oitzros - Lechaim Music

Please let me know if there's any albums that I should check out. Thanks.

Benny Friedman - Whispers of the Heart
Workflowy. You won't know what you're missing until you try it.

I didn't hear any. Any recommendations - should I try to first one, or the new one? Which has a better song selection?

I focus a lot on song selection for these albums, as it's terribly boring to listen to accapella of a song you don't really enjoy.

One new album that I just bought is Yitzy Bald's NYBC Cantata. It's accapella of Cantata songs that he composed over the years for Camp Aguda. Many of them appeared (with music) on his first NYBC album.

I love the songs, and the harmonies are pretty good. It features Ari Goldwag, which gives the album a little Goldwag feel. Not a bad thing, but I have many of Goldwag's Soul accapella albums, so it can be a little boring to hear his voice so much. Otherwise, first impression is that it's a solid album with great slow songs.

Good to know!
I just listened to Whispers 2 sampler and it's really nice. I'd choose based on which songs you want (or buy both :) )

They are both on amazon music if you have no rush credits...

I have listened to #1 tens if not hundreds of times. Gone through #2 a good few times over the last few days. For me #1 is the winner but let's say it's 12/10 and #2 is 10/10. Both on Spotify.
The chiddush of DDF is the way Dan Deals with all us crazies 🤪

Whispers are great. Not a big fan of AGs albums.
