Speaking of 8th Day...

P.S. Did you initially write that for Yossi Zweig?

Yup
I remember that he once showed me an article about 8th Day and telling me that it's a really professional piece for the reboot of his magazine. Alas, that never happened...

For me their most enduring songs are mostly slow melodies; though this might be because Bentzi seems to do lead vocals on those songs.

Honorable mention: the 8th Day/Benny (pre)rendition of Father Don't Cry where they demoed it for Avremel for him to record it in a different beat than what he ultimately recorded it in.

Bentzi is the most under-rated vocalist in Jewish music (1:30 am hot take)

We've discussed before

Avraham
Personally, my favorite version of Avraham is not the original, but the one off this Ohel Concert.

Similarly, my favorite version of Abie Rotenberg's Lulei Sorosach is also from an Ohel Concert, though there are a number of close seconds, like Donny Gross's and Eli Schwebel's.

And once we are talking about Rubashin...

I just discovered this cache of information tracing the entire saga: https://yated.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/06/Perfidy-In-Iowa3.pdf

I was scrolling through it and it brought back such memories.

It was put out by Rocky Zweig a"h in 1986. IINM, one of the songs was later used on "The Purim Story".

Interestingly it was dedicated in memory of Eli Gerstner's mother, who died in a car accident when she was 23.

There's a song on it written for her: Brenda

Is the title track the same song as Shimshon's Legacy at the end of the Shimshon tape?
(I can't play it through the link)
Small people talk about other people.
Average people talk about things
BIG PEOPLE TALK ABOUT IDEAS.

Sorry, I got mixed up. Not the Purim Story, but on Shimshon.
