Also Vilna didn't have an "Eastern wall" - it's directly North of Yerushalayim.

Wrong. Where I grew up, mizrach was north.

Mizrach (and maarava) is not the same as "Eastern". (Since we're being very pedantic today in this thread... ;) )

The Lemmers knew this, but changing this lyric would have been highly disrespectful to the rock-solid original.

No exaggeration, growing up we routinely drove with 11 in a 7 seater Peugeot station wagon.

Did you grow up on a third-world continent or something?

Oh stop it. Once the tune gets modified the words sometimes need to be.

Like Ohr Chodosh in eileh barechev
Or Shlomie Dachs Hamalach

Or Shlomie Dachs Hamalach

https://mishpacha.com/shloime-dachs-if-i-could-press-a-re-do-button/

Quote
“Actually, there’s something I wish I could change on my first album, One Day at a Time. If you listen to the song ‘Hamalach Hagoel,’ you’ll realize that the words, ‘veyikarei vahem shemi’ from the second half of the pasuk are missing — the high part goes straight from ‘yevareich es hane’arim’ to ‘v’sheim avosai.’ We only realized that after the album came out and it still upsets me to have misquoted the pasuk like that. When I sing the song live, I always add those three words in.”

They should have had @Something Fishy do the video.

Re skipping words in a pasuk: I once saw an interview with one of the producers(?) of JEP (I think it was in the Yated) who said that Rav Pam (I think but maybe Rav Yaakov Kamenetzky) stressed to him how important it is not to modify psukim.
