There is a new Boruch Levine album out.
https://baruchlevine.com/ or https://mostlymusic.com/collections/featured-music/products/baruch-levine-lev-chodosh

I don't know why, but I'm really excited for this album. I really enjoyed listening to his previous albums, but I can't say I ever felt any real excitement or anticipation for them. They were just nice music, and I wasn't especially waiting with bated breath to get ahold of them. But there is something about this album that makes me actually excited.

Maybe I just got a bigger appreciation for him after hearing his Off the Record albums (especially how he sings "Jewish Child", which showed me that he's a true master). Or perhaps it's just that these days, there are so few albums being released that have simple, bataamteh niggunim.

Not sure which is fact is more unexpected for me: that Baruch Levine has released 7 original albums (k"h!), or that it's been 17 (!) years since his first album.

For thos worried about copyright, every song in this years playlist was released for legally free download with the exception of Mordechai Shapiro's Ashira and Yishai Lapidot's Ana Hashem. Enjoy.

I’m looking for a compilation of slow Shabbos songs to sing by the seuda. Anyone one know where I can find such a list? Preferably old and new songs.

I'm sure that if you ask here, you will quickly get enough suggestions for a full playlist.

Are you looking for tunes for Zemiros (that are in the bentcher), or other songs to supplement those?

In my home, I usually sing a few classics from the bentcher, then I sing a few more contemporary ones, like Chazaik Kiryasi (Shloime Gertner, composed by Baruch Levine), Mi Yitain (Ohad, composed by Yossi Green), Koidesh Hi Lachem (Shloime Gertner, composed by Yossi Green), Meshoich (Yaakov Schwekey, composed by Moshe Wertzberger), and Hashabbos (Either from Shloime Taussig, composed by Dudi Kalish, or from Shloime Daskal, composed by Moshe Wertzberger, or from Shloime Cohen, composed by Pinky Weber)

I like the new Yiddish ones, such as kretzmich, r Shays ben reb moshe, kiddush, etc

Solid list. I lean a bit more heimish. Some Isaac honig (hashabbos, uverirtzoincha) Far Dir. Shomrie, mimkomcha (both carlbach) as well.

I was only giving examples. I actually sing Honig's U'vertzonchah from time to time, as well as Far Dir.

There are many other ba'tamte (not the pickles, Yehuda57) songs that work really well, and my kids pick them up quickly and really enjoy them. I often "introduce" a new one for a special time. I just taught them Kanei (Helfgot, off the 8th Note) before Purim. Often, during the week after, I will play them the song on the original album, and they really enjoy that.

Just nice Shabbos related songs.
Great list. Most of which I already wrote down. I forgot about Meshoich from shweky. It’s a hard song to sing though, big range. So is Issac Honig’s ivirtzonchu

Not as hard as Mi Yitain from Ohad, and my kid insists that I sing it every week...   ???

Regardless of what I think of the song or style, the guy on the keyboard seems genuinely full of simcha. I envy him.

An Abie purist will turn Journeys on repeat (all 5 albums) and start working on Pesach prep, without ever taking a break.
BUMP.

Pesach prep is bringing up the nostalgia of last Pesach, when that album was playing non-stop in my house!

I remember that when Shwekey 5 came out, I made a list of all the composers of his songs from all his albums. IIRC, 29 Shwekey songs (until that point) were composed by Waldner. Second place was Yossi Green, at 10 songs. (And he composed most of the album on some subsequent albums...)

There are three different Shwekeys, who happen to share the same body:

There's the litvish Shwekey, the Omer Adam wannabe Shwekey, and the better-version Mordechai Shapiro Shwekey.

The reason Shwekey is the GOAT is precisely because he can do all three.
