I'm listening to Yoely Greenfeld's new album and there's something interesting. Track 3 is a song called Hodu composed by Shlomo Yehuda Rechnitz. It was on the CD that Rechnitz released for his last daughter's wedding, but on that album, it was sung by Daskal. The music sounds very much the same as well. Isn't it strange for a different singer to reuse someone else's song?

Didn't hear either of them, but it sounds more like a composer/producer/arranger using two different singers for the same song rather than two singers producing the same song (I may be wrong though, since I know nothing of either of the songs)

Shlome Daskal has released the cover to his (hopefully) soon to be released Chasuna style album. He was supposed to release it last year, but delays are commenplace in this industry. I beleive that this is a Shua Ray sponsored album. Shua Ray is a Gvir from Chicago who is very close to Daskal, and he sponsored (at least in part) Daskal last album, Hartzig 2.

Today's Song of the Day is dedicated to a Puerto Rican co-worker of mine who was cleaning the bathrooms today singing this song:

Ana B'Koach
Ovadia Hamama

Anyone know if I can download the MBC Experiences from the early 80's anywhere?
Or could I buy an online version?

Rumor has it that he recorded it upon request of a sick child in the hospital, and was indeed upset when it was posted on Gruntig.

I was there. Don't remember seeing Aron Razel. Did he sing?

He showed up for the last song and joined in the singing.

The first song on Yoely Greenfeld's new CD is Az Yashir ("Zeh") composed by Yossi Green. I think that he was trying to replicate the style of the song Hizkabtzi, which was also composed by Yossi Green. He even adds the word Rabeini (Az Yashir Moshe Rabeini) because, IMO, Hizkabtzi also had those words (Moshe Rabeini Ula Lamuroim). I'm not saying that the song is "stolen", just the style. He also puts in a children's choir which sounds similar to Hizkabtzi, as well as them both being the opening track on their respective albums. My wife thinks that I'm wrong (as usual), and the styles have no connection, so I turn to this thread's contributors for their opinion. What do you think?

Sorry, wrong Razel brother, though a relative who was there was speaking about Aron that night, so that's why it was in my head, I guess

I think you guys are referring to last night's concert (Monday night).
I was there till the end on motze shabbos and none of the Razel's were there, only Eli Hertzlich joined at the end (with Chilu Frank on the flute and some chasidishe violinist)
