DoeS anyone know who composed mbd's crack of dawn?
On the new falkowitz video it says yossi green but in an interview with Dina storch it says she composed it.

Someone told me once they think it's actually an old classical music piece but I have never been able to confirm that.

I remeber seeing here or in a different thread a recording of R Baruch Ber Ungarischer singing as a child but I can't find it now. Anyone know where to find it?

aygart: R' Baruch Ber Ungaresher was one of the two children who sang the song "Vi Nemt Men Di Heiliger Teg" on the Pirchei album. I think the other kid was Yossi Sonenblick.

So it's that time of year again. Every producer starts putting out their "Chasuna/Purim Mix" album with a one man band and a bunch of random singers. I think Simchas Hachaim should offer subscriptions!

I heard from a reputable source that Avraham Fried is planning on releasing an all new (Regular) album in 2 weeks. I know with guys like Fried times can keep changing, but that's the closest I ever heard.
This is a long two weeks...

It is indeed strange because the source I heard it from was Aderet Music, and although Sameach usually distributes Fried, Aderet usually does have the scoop. Especially a two week prediction, which means that the CD is going to print within the next week or so. (It generally takes 5 days for the CD to be copied, packaged, and delivered.)

Any idea on what it takes for albums to end up on Google play/spotify?

I use it and its interesting to see that some are available immediately, while others just don't show up. Is it a record label thing?

Basic roundup. In mix CDs: Simchas Hachaim five and Mezamrim two are out. Maalei Simcha 2 is almost done, as well as a new one called Simcha Mitoch Simcha from Shir Vashevach Boys Choir (which has the distinction of being the only one that is sung by a kids choir).

Other recent releases include Yedidim 2 from Dudi Kalish, and Yiddish Nachas 2 from Yossi Green.

In other (exciting) news, Michoel Schnitzler is said to be releasing a new album within two weeks.

Yumi Lowy too is almost finished his second album, which is his first album since he was "bought" by Yochi Briskman.

Yaakov Shwekey is also said to be almost finished his CD, which is his first since splitting with Yochi.

I love him. I think he stand as proof that the importance of voice pales in comparison to the importance of personality. And his song selection is done in a much better way than everyone else. He doesn't measure songs by the modern ways of measuring ("I'll take 2 horas, one opening track, 2 hartzig slows, one chuppa song, two pumping songs, and a side of ketchup"). Rather he listens to every song he gets and if it talks to his heart, he takes it. And the difference shows so much in the results.

(Needless to say, this whole rant is IMHO)
