*RANT ALERT*

Please let me know if there's any albums that I should check out. Thanks.
Your list is most of what I like.

Here are some more I personally enjoyed (YMMV). Some are plain singing, but done well (like kumzits in the rain)

Freidman family: my zaidies zmiros.
Beri weber's farbreng vol. 2 (the acapella tracks obviously)
Acappella Kumzitz by Kleinfeld, Itsi & Silberstein, Tzvi
Lol zimra - the music of Abie Rotenberg.
The s'fira album, Dachs and Williger.
The acapella Treasury - Shabbat
(Y-studs, if you are into that)

Please add more if you think they are alright.

Stick with chazanus. Get a taste for it, it's worth it.

Can you recommend some good albums to start with?
Especially if they have good audio quality.

For sfira you need the old stuff, because basically all the current chazanim use full orchestral accompaniment. So basically u should look for digitally remastered classical chazanus. The Od Yosef Chai series is really good, off the top of my head, but there are many other good stuff from other chazanim. Sobel did a few old chazanus and put modern recorded philharmonic stuff to it "bayamim haheim bizman hazeh" it's called. But that also won't work for sfira.

*RANT ALERT*

I hate these people who produce a "Sefira CD" that has just a bunch of people singing, and charge $15 for it. Can it be justified to charge the same amount as an album that has full music (which is the most expensive part of the production)? And many of these albums sound horrible. There's a great one liner that sums it up: " Sefira albums are the only type of albums that a guy could wake up in the morning and decide to put one out, and have it completely finished before he goes to sleep. And from the way that many of them sound nowadays, it seems like that's exactly what happened!" Listen up producers: it takes more talent to put out a good acapella album then it takes to put out a good music album. On an acapella album, you can't hide behind the music. If you don't have the talent to create beautiful harmonies and whatever else you need to make a nice Sefira album, please turn over and go back to sleep. Thank you.

I would like to just include a (partial) list of Sefira albums that I really do enjoy, who I think did do a great job.
Around the Campfire - Miami
Kumzitz in the Rain 1 & 2 - Doni Gross
Lev Tahor 1 & 3
Soul 2 & 3 - Ari Goldwag (#1 had too much fake music for my liking)
Heimishe Oitzros - Lechaim Music

Please let me know if there's any albums that I should check out. Thanks.

it's not Jewish, but you can try Pentatonix :) their "music" is ridiculously incredible. no instruments at all and absolutely fascinating.

I dont know if this the right thread for this but Ill try it here first.

Anyone know of any sefira approved children's story cd's? Other than the royal rescue?

My kids listen to story cd's at night when in bed a lot.  During the year they listen to the Shmuel Kunda cd's and others like it.  For sefira/3 weeks they listen to The Royal rescue which is story cd specifically made for sefira.  But they are bored and i dont know of any others like that.  there are other story cd's without music at all (and I would love recommendations on those too) but Im looking for a story cd with a capella songs.

whats it called?

I've attached a short clip so you can hear some of it. It's called איך האב ליב די הייליגע יום טוב שבועות

It has the story of shvuos (Jews wandering in the desert, etc) and songs. It comes with two CDs that don't have music and 2 that are the exact same but with music. It also comes with a book. I paid $22.

There is a Sefira version of "There's Zaidy" that is available.

There are also many Children's CDs that only have background music, which some Rabbanim are Matir. Offhand I can think of The Story Experience (Nachman Seltzer), and all of R' Fishal Schachter's albums (he has one of his World of Middos CDs that is also meant for Sefira).
