Voice of the Stars is indeed a great album that came out of left field. I bought it after hearing Abie's song playing in a grocery store and I was blown away. I'm a big Abie fan and I was very impressed by the song. Most of the songs are top rate, and it really is a worthy buy. Liked also Fried's song and Shalsheles Jr.'s.

I know, small sample size and all, but the cashier at a gas station in Borough Park told me that in his 12 years working there, Tza'aka has sold more than any other CD, by far.

If that's true (that MBD's new album is selling more than anything else), my theory is that the industry is so diluted that everyone stopped buying CDs. But you can't dilute MBD, so even all the people who stopped buying CDs will still buy MBD.

I believe MBD claims this album has sold better than any of his recent albums, at some point even MBD was diluted

And you also have people like me who bought his last 2 albums (with my amazon credits) to make sure he makes enough $ that he keeps putting out more .

TheAsh: I really love you're articles and mindset, but I personally only listen to accapella music that doesn't have fake reproductions of music. I enjoy Kumzitz in the Rain, Miami Around the Campfire, and Ari Goldwag's Soul collection. Could your next article be about this genre? After all, that's Frum too.

New article up!
Thoughts?

TBH, ever since you posted the following I find it hard to take anything you say seriously. If you consider a rap album to be "one of the most solid albums being released in Jewish music in a while" and worthy of dropping everything for, then clearly you and I are not on the same page -heck, we're probably not even reading the same book when it comes to taste in music.
STOP WHATEVER YOU'RE DOING!!!!
and go to iTunes or Amazon and preorder the new Nissim Lemala cd.

Whyme: While I don't like rap, I do want to write something in defence of TheAsh. Sometimes there is so much art and talent in an album, that even if someone doesn't like the genre they should still hear the album. I think that even people who don't like Yiddish music would still appreciate Schnitzler for the art involved, and people who like modern music will still like Abie for his talent. Perhaps the same can be said for Black.

If you consider a rap album to be "one of the most solid albums being released in Jewish music in a while"
I still stand by this opinion.
I'm not sure why just because we have different tastes, it causes you not to take me 'seriously'. Not agreeing doesn't translate into less so-called  serious opinions.

You're right. "not take you seriously" was the wrong choice of words.
Your reviews certainly seem to be high quality and very well done, I apologize for implying otherwise. My point was simply that I'm sure to disagree with your take.

Where can I find a list of upcoming concerts? Specifically in the Catskills.

(I looked on JewishTickets.com, and they dont have anything up.)
