Open letter to any composer and producer of music on the forums:

I think there is a certain niche in music that hasn't been touched by the Jewish industry that has potential. I don't think there is a name to this genre of music it's just called "epic music".  It's basically just music without any people singing. But it's not comparable at all to classical music. The emotions that can be evoked through this type of music is much more intense. I personally enjoy this type of music very very much and would love to see Jewish composers trying to make such music.

If you search on YouTube for "epic music" you can find plenty of examples made by goyim. But alot of them have choirs of men and women singing in them. And a lot of them have not tzniusdik thumbnails. So I'll try to find links that are suitable in that respect and post them here for you to understand how this music is different than anything else.

There is a reason that I think that this type of music might not be appropriate for frum people.

Let me start by saying that this type of music can be separated into two types. One is emotional/sad/uplifting type, and one is epic/heroic type. So the epic/heroic type can bring about a feeling of "kochi ve'otzem yodi asa li es hachayil hazeh". But I still think that if you have the proper mindset when listening to such music, it shouldn't be a problem.

This type of music isn't expensive to produce as far as I know. One person can do it all on FL Studio, it just takes time. So why isn't there a single CD with such music?
It sounds to me like instrumental nigunim albums (e.g. the Chabad Classics series) fit the bill of what you're looking for.

I just listened to a couple of songs of Chabad classics. It's totally different than epic music. Regular instrumental music like chabad classics is just supposed to be nice music and if you happen to get chills from the music then even better.

Epic music has a totally different feel to it. It's music that's supposed to give you chills through a build up of the music. That is the purpose of it. I can't really explain it, you have to listen to it to get what I mean.

It can just as easily bring out how uplifting a mitzva is.

A very large portion of this genre is written for movie/TV/game scores and trailer music making the genre very profitable for those who are able to sell into that market. While the actual music may not be costly to produce (maybe) the creativity is somewhat specialty.
I would imagine the emotional/inspirational type would bring out the feeling of how uplifting a mitzvah is, not the epic/heroic type.

And yes epic music is used in movies and games especially the epic/heroic type. But I think that a lot of it isn't made specifically for trailers anymore. People are realizing the potential of this type of music and turning it into regular albums.

In regards to creativity. I actually think I have a basic idea on what makes music "epic". After listening to a lot of those types of songs. I realized that there's usually a second layer of music in the background (commonly violin) that is playing at a different tempo than the foreground of the music. That tempo usually is the key to building up the tension in the music.

Those are some examples. Although I feel like I only stuck to the more emotional type because those are easier to find without vocals. You might not like those but I can guarantee there are some that you would like. You just have to explore.

And you have to listen to the music with headphones on in a quiet room in order to fully experience it.

You can argue on how well of a cover they did.. imo they did fairly decent job for the orchestra they had and the vocals are cute..

I will forever remember the day I was introduced to two steps from hell.. epic doesn't begin to describe..

I hear you.
I had only clicked the first link from the samples you posted and compared to a lot of the other stuff it's, well, not quite so epic. That one seems more like the nigunim style.
Now that I listened to a bit more I know exactly what you're talking about.

I don't know anybody that calls themselves Shmu-eh-lee, even if they spell it Shmueli. My point wasn't why is calling himself Shmueli on his albums while he's known as Shmili (lots of professionals have their professional names different than their personal name). My point was, on the same ad the names should be consistent, if the album artist is Shmueli then the ad shouldn't be for an artist named Shmili

So now Shmueli Ungar is following MBD's footsteps and posting a paypal link for people to pay if they stole the album. I don't get it. If I want to pay for it, I can just go pay for it. What's with the PayPal? I don't know why, but it feels weird and condescending.

If it's a way to avoid the distributor getting their cut, well, isn't that little scam ironic?
