Since you keep referencing back to this, I'll just point out that this sugya is not as pashut as you're making it seem, as I'm sure you're aware. There are certainly 'Jewish' songs out there which would 100% fall under the issur from that gemara, and situations where a 'kosher' song is being used in a way that would fall under the 'issur' according to everyone, but to say that all pesukim-based songs are problematic is an oversimplification.
[This is no to defend the idea that songs not based in pesukim are somehow worse.]
The gemoro definitely means
SOMETHING and someone who is producing music better have some understanding of it ans
SOMEWHERE that they draw a line to never cross.
I fully understand that it is not simple. THe most basic understang of that gemoro is that it depends on whether or not it was for entertainment purposes instead of "to bring us closer to hashem". There are absolutely other possible ways of understanding it.
