Noach Dear's (a"h) band, but Label Sharfman isn't on that album either.
I stand corrected. Apparently Label Sharfman was a guest vocalist on this album.

So this must be the album the letter writer was referring to. There are 3 Abie songs on here which aren't as well known as the 4th (Ki Lecho/Times of Joy). Pischu Li, Chusa, and Ki Vesimcha.

Apparently Label Sharfman was a guest vocalist on this album (see here: https://www.discogs.com/Clei-Zemer-Orchestra-and-singers-Clei-Zemer-Orchestra-and-Singers/release/4602773). Although the album jacket doesn't mention his name.

Random fact, many years ago I created an Abie interview, in which I asked him questions and I put song segments from him as the answers.
Oh that was you? ;D

IMO, it's not good enough for publication. I would need to polish it up, which would take time. I made the original many years ago, and I haven't had that much time to kill since. (Besides for when I made this..)

It also may be identifying, which I'm hesitant to do.

Did Shmuel Kunda ever use other people's compositions?

It's not his composition but I can't place the original. It'll come to me eventually.

ETA: In my head I hear a quartet (or small group) of men singing it with bad fidelity, so something like Rabbis' Sons or Shema Koleinu or Ohr Chodosh - but I can't place it exactly...

Speaking of JEP, he used the song "Like an Ocean" from JEP vol. 1.

Who composed that song?
Is that a trivia question, or do you really want to know? I have the jacket someone in my attic, I can dig it out if you need...

Random thought about Shmuel Kunda - my favorite song of his came out posthumously, on the album When Zaidy Was Young vol. 3, with lyrics written by his son. The tune, "Goodbye," was all the more poignant coming out after his passing, and both the words and the tune (and the production of that song) are beautiful. I often use the tune for Menucha Vesimcha on Friday night.

I don't think I heard much of those besides the Shabbos one, which I do remember now is all zemiros tunes.

Don't waste your time - jacket doesn't have the composer for this song.
