I find it amazing that these two singers who are far from yidishkeit could sing to HKBH with such heart
No different than Kwartin.

I spent hours browsing the discount bins in MostlyMusic (when they still had tapes) and in GalPaz in Eretz Yisroel
Same!

The discount bin concept seems to have been sent to the trash once JM went digital.

All I want is Aderet (and any other JM distributor) to open their warehouses and let me run amok. I'll give them a couple hundred dollars for an all you can eat buffet (of albums >10 years old; can also exclude very popular albums eg old MBD/MBC/Fried etc).

No different than Kwartin.
I don't know Kwartin's whole backstory, but I'd imagine it's a little different than a guy with visible tattoos, statutory rape and tax fraud allegations, out of wedlock children, etc.

His other song Melech Malchei Hamlachim always makes me cry.
He also wrote Mi Shemaamin, which he sang alongside the Nanachs, and I'm pretty sure he released it as a joke, a side project for fun.
It ended up being the most popular song he ever released and was voted the song of the decade by Kan and Galgalatz radio in Israel. (His Ata Hamelecg is great too.)
There's a huge market for "frum" songs among secular Israelis. That is why Yishai Robo, Shilo Rand, Akiva Turjeman and Hanan Ben Ari are so popular.

Funnily enough, a chiloni atheist once wrote a sarcastic article where he claims he was flipping through the secular radio stations and every single one was a playing a song about Hashem. Finally he switched to Kol Berama which thankfully wasn't.

He also didn't live in the 21st century. His prime was 100 years ago.

No offense intended, but it isn't our place to judge how close someone is to Yiddishkeit. It's obviously your choice to choose which/whose music to listen to.

I've been told by an insider in the JM industry that Isaac Honig sells a vast amount of albums, far more than any other singer in his caliber.

He puts out an album once every 10 years (generally), and it's top quality, classic songs. Everyone in his demographic buys it, as well as many in the litvish world.

I've often thought that this is a major point that gets over looked when looking the Jewish music market.
At least ten ago, I heard MBD claim that as his proof that copying hurts the industry that he's selling the same number of copies as he had twenty years prior.

I think that that is playing with statistics.
How many CDs were released in the entire 1989???
There are probably more CDs released just in the Sefira genre each year than that.

There are a few artists that I will buy whatever they put out even before I hear it, because they have a chazaka that I enjoy what they put out.
Any others will have to work hard to get my dollar. I have a limited budget just like most people.
If even established artists made sure that 90% of the songs on that album would stand the test of time, and not just put out an album because the last one was just over a year or two ago so I have to get it out now...they would sell more.

As an aside, the best value in Jewish music may be the recordings of Rebbeshe chasunos sold internally in each Chassidus. It's a little bit of you have to know a guy, but for 50-100 Shekel you get hours upon hours of music, usually including some current hits. I bought the recordings of the first three Belzer weddings, and that's basically what has been playing in my house since.

Honestly, I don't buy music anymore. If it's on YouTube music I listen. If not, I don't. yosef moshe kahana is bountiful on there

Just heard Motti Ilowitz's Yiddishe Taavos for the first time. Although my yiddish isn't great I think this song is a gold mine for the humor guys on twitter (or it all came from there).

Indeed a beautiful Pinky Weber song, sung by Shloime Gertner.

it sounds like it's a recording from a wedding, or a live event. The singer is Shea Berko.
