I was waiting for someone to come along and angrily yell at me for that. But this is not a discussion of a deal, this is about people not reposting deals. Discussions of deal details and how best to utilize them belong on the Amex Offers Master Thread. This is housekeeping.

I got the point...understood it quite well and can certainly appreciate it.
I had never even posted in either of the threads prior to today but took umbrage to people yelling at other people to stop posting in threads. Its a community here...

I know you got the point as you were around the other thread, I quoted coralsnake in my response as I wasn't sure if he'd been following the comments in the other threads.


And of course you can post. Like you said, it's a forum so everyone's voice can be heard and people shouldn't be "yelled" at. I hope this thread will be a civil means to help everyone win

Maybe someone ( / we) should start putting the current deals in the wiki, this way it may be easier to see if it was posted already.

If people don't search the thread for reposts, I doubt they'll look in the wiki.

Amex Offers Master Thread is where you go to ask questions and discuss deals.
Report a New Amex Offer Master Thread is where you report a new deal.
This is not complicated.

I've given up on trying to get people to follow that simple rule. We could change the thread name to REPORT A NEW AMEX OFFER ONLY - NO DISCUSSION ALLOWED - CHECK IF OFFER WAS POSTED PREVIOUSLY and there would still be discussions and reposts. Its a sad fact, but its just the way it is.

The annoying thing is that when people like you post to remind people of the rules (and I'm not condemning you for it) it bumps the thread and makes those of us who follow it for new deals think there is something new

Maybe but I don't think it will and there's no way to know if that post is what stops people.

I hate to sound like a broken record (or whatever today's technological equivalent would be) but a lot people just don't seem to get the purpose or rules of that thread, I don't think they look at previous posts or they'd see reposts or these recurring "housekeeping" posts and stop to think before they post.

Even if it won't prevent people from doing it again, at least it ends that conversation.

If someone wants to be the police they can PM people when they violate the rules of that thread. Maybe that'll help?
