I tried making a payment through Plastiq on my mortgage today using a VGC from Giftcardmall. The system didn’t take the payment. I called in to check on it and the CSR told me they don’t accept gift cards.

Sorry for the scare. I got it to work. I went back and changed the address on my VGC and that apparently did the trick. Happy to report that that particular snooty CSR was full of sh*t.

I can’t get a gift card to work, how did you change the address? do you fill out all the same information as if it was a credit card?

I went to https://www.giftcardmall.com/activate. Then typed in the 16 digit card number. Next, the activation number on the lower left of the card. Then it gave me the notice of activation and my available balance. Below that message is a change of address form that I filled out (which I didn’t do the first time I activated the card figuring that I didn’t need to “change” the address). After that I filled out Plastiq and was good to go.

Did they pull the money off it or not? Can't hurt to try adding the address and seeing what happens.

Some payment processors automatically reject all GCs. Probably the case here, but report back if not.

-1. I inputted a gift card and it said 0% fee. I just didn't go through with it. GCs work.

Who says this payment is doomed? Try calling them and confirming your identity first. I don't think the gc is the reason you were flagged.

The phone number (8447527847) tells you to contact them by email. Messed up company. Sounds like Beatrice runs the company from the john or something.

And Henry is the same got an email from him also I'm waiting to hear back I sent them an email

Guess they run the company together in the john. Good for them, bad for people looking for a modicum of professionalism with a company they are trusting to handle their bills.
