Am I missing something? Am I leaving money on the table? These accounts which offer 4-5% are they regular checking accounts where I can take out the money whenever I want?

The accounts I'm using are brokerage accounts, but I'm getting over 4%, and can transfer money to my checking account anytime I want.

I run a business and need to be able to transact easily. Now I'm with Chase and I just checked and I'm getting 0.0%....

If I can get an account with a bank which offers 5% or even 4% and I can transfer money in and out freely why wouldn't I do it.. This would be a ton of extra income..

E*Trade has a $5,000 minimum for treasuries at auction, and no automatic rollover feature.

Interactive Brokers has no option that I could find to place auction orders online.
I've been waiting over 5 years with bated breath for someone to say that!

AMEX business checking offers 1.3%. There are some banks that offer 2% or a drop more on business checking. https://www.depositaccounts.com/checking/business-checking-accounts.html

Good to know!

Then there are banks that offer ZBA's (Zero Balance Accounts) for transactions, which can probably be linked to an interest-bearing account.

That's why I like Fidelity and Vanguard, where the standard account is over 4%, so even if you forget to buy more treasuries, you're still getting a solid rate.

OTOH E*Trade has better MMFs than Fidelity (Vanguard funds). Even Fidelity has better MMFs (SPRXX) than the standard "core" MMF.

I don't have a Vanguard account so I'm not familiar with the pros and cons.

Just Saw this message. As far as I know they are all Savings accounts.
I opened a checking account with primis after someone posted about it in this thread and I had the same epiphany as @ilherman, it’s a checking account with 4.92 apy. Not only is it a regular checking account but it even seems to have more advantages vs the big banks like it has no balance or activity requirements but still pays all ATM fees, etc.. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Does it have a limit? Like if I keep an average balance of 200k will I get paid 5% annually on it?

So that’s why I chose primis, a lot of the other banks only give the high rate on the first 10 or 15 k but they didn’t have that limit that I’ve seen. Double check but I’m pretty sure uncapped

I heard about Primis in a DoC post yesterday and they sound promising. Do you have any complaints about them thus far?

I can’t log into their app, even though I can access mobile web and desktop so that’s annoying, especially bc I wanted to do mobile check deposit and need app for that. Their phone line was backed up but I didn’t try too hard for help yet.
Transfers take a bit longer than I’m used to (more like 3-4 days than 2 days).
That’s about it though

Edit: I checked DOC based on your post (ty) and noticed the thing about having the wrong app, need to download their “digital” app since this is a digital account. Works fine now

Generally savings accounts have a monthly limit of debit transactions. Like five per month

Smallbusinessbank.com have competitive tiered rates for business savings account. But both their app and their website leave PLENTY to be desired.
