Car brakes
« on: May 27, 2015, 04:21:32 PM »
Are there any car repair guys on here that can help me?

I have around 35k miles on a 2013 Sonata, I took it in today for its 35k tune up and the mechanic is telling me that the tire is within 1mm of being in the red. Does it make sense that the brake gets worn down so fast?

I'm no mechanic, but wouldn't the way you drive play a large part in the wear of brakes?

are you the only driver? when 2 people drive the same car it decreases the life of the breaks

From what I understand,  brake pads should last 40k-50k miles, so your not that far off, if they were wearing down in around  10k miles I would say somethings up the calipers

So assuming that mileage and types of driving is the same, it is more wear and tear if two people are doing the driving than if it's only one?

The tire is in the red or the brakes?
