Beginner Questions - Which Card?
« on: January 10, 2022, 03:52:00 PM »
Currently using the Citi 2%back for everything and looking to open a new card.
What is the very best card to consider (we travel 2x a year, most daily spendings = grocery/restaurant)

Trying to up my credit score as well as have a card that gives me more perks.

To be clear - only looking to get 1 more - I am worried that having too many cards and trying to hack miles will be too overwhelming.

TIA

Was hoping for something more sophisticated.

Sapphire? Something with better miles?

Looking for a serious suggestion ;)
I’d like to eventually be holding in the miles game and contributing to DDF

Contributing here doesn't require any games, take a look at DDFs boards, ranging from music to random..of randomness!

Amex personal gold card should be in strong consideration given your criteria:

-4X on restaurants & 4x on groceries.
-3x on flights booked directly from the airline or through the Amex Travel Portal

The freedom/freedom unlimited has a pretty good SUB (sign up bonus) and gets decent point per dollar spent.
