You request to review an item (for a discount or for free), and the seller approves your request. Or doesn't.

I signed up. What I meant above is now confirmed. Amazon buyers have a page that shows how many reviews they wrote and how helpful they are.
Sellers will sooner give a good buyer an item over a new buyer with no other reviews

Nowadays it's a grave issue...) Otherwise you can just copy>paste the nicest review... Can't you?
