wow -- they gave you the balcony whirlpool!? On the 9th floor? They said that is was not available with points when I was there. Only cash. They wanted $500+.

Yeah I got lucky. I called to upgrade and was quoted 1700 points to which I said yes I'll take that. I was then transferred to someone else who then transferred me to the hotel who then told me it was $200 or 750 points per $10. He said the rate would be better by transferring me to central SPG booking. When the booking agent picked up the phone she said I already had the upgrade in my account

I'm not sure if it was a booking mixup or if the request I put in when I reserved the hotel was honored. In any event I'm really excited.

Nice!! If you already completed your stay, how was the upgraded room and hot tub? Suprisingly I couldn't find any photos of the balcony jacuzzi online...

I am considering spending on the upgrade if I don't get as lucky as you, so I am curious if it is worth it ; )
