I'm not sure where to post this so any useful suggestion is appreciated.

I booked the Sheraton Tel-Aviv for two nights, June 1st and 2nd (Friday and Saturday). Friday on points (before devaluation) and Saturday $$. Now I can't go.

They can be cancelled until June 1 with no forfeiture.

Hilton Garden Inn DPS Airport - Kuta.

20k Hilton points for 5 nights. One of the few remaining Hilton cat 1 properties.

Free shuttle between Hotel/Airport and Hotel/Kuta.

Paid rate would of been $360+ for 5 nights.

Going to be doing day trips to Ubud and other places from there. Airport is very central for south region.

Lowest direct cash rate is $440 or so total. 10% point rebate via the IHG CC = 18K a night = 1.22 cpp redemption which is fine and dandy for IHG.

Nice, though their award availability is almost non-existent lately. (You may want to request the top floor (9th?), I believe it's been renovated).

Yes, it took a while to find the space (which is for a Thursday-Saturday this month, by the way). I just kept rechecking the dates everyday until one day it just appeared. I've also heard that the 9th floor is fully renovated -- hopefully the Platinum will give me some leverage. According to their responses to TripAdvisor reviews, starting November 2018 the entire hotel is supposed to undergo a full renovation.

Three people (16yo counts as adult).

(Had to call)

Some buyer’s remorse...wondering if I should switch to IC for ~ 1/3 the price.

Just make sure that they won't give you a problem with 16yo. I just booked there and they told me very clearly that if were under 18 we won't be allowed.

Back from the stay. Best elite recognition ever received from an IHG Israel hotel: upgraded to Junior Suite, 3 drink+snack coupons (the bar tender said it includes liquor), incredible welcome amenity consisting of full bottle of wine, 1.5L water, full-size cookie tin, sliced fresh fruit platter with 6 different types of fruit. Better than any Ambassador amenity I've ever recieved at an IC! Also offered discounted Friday night dinner for 100 ILS per adult instead of 150 or so.

I would absolutely go back.
