Has anyone stayed at the Ritz Carlton - Kapalua? I just booked a 7 night stay for 16,800 UR points per night, does anyone think this is a good rate? and worthwhile hotel to stay at?

Category 1-5, 7-night certificate at Calgary Airport Marriott.
Phone rep said, "Oh that's a lovely property."
Incredulous, I asked, "have you stayed there?"
"Yes, I have," she dead-panned.

Well, I'm not really planning to stay there...just hoping I can arbitrage my cert. to a New Category 5 and flip it to the Residence Inn Maui Wailea.

Calling back to do a second identical certificate.
Second agent: "Dr. zow, you do realize that hotel is right inside the airport terminal?"
Me: "Yes, very convenient."
(Who spends a week at an airport hotel inside the terminal?)

Might as well save on hold times since you have to call to book it and he wants it to be attached to a hotel that's going up.

Well, it does if (a) you want to have any chance the certificate will “absorb” the value of the higher value property and/or (b) you want to avoid the small chance of having the “floating” certificate mandatorily refunded as points.
