Solid points value, what went wrong?
A few things bothered, some insignificant but one a major service lapse in my opinion.
The small/insignificant: 1) The room had an espresso machine, but no capsules were provided. It would have been more appropriate to simply take the machine out of the room.
2) I was greeted as Platinum and had to show proof of being Spire. Not a brand new Spire. Upon showing proof, they extended the free breakfast (or lounge, had it been open) and late checkout. I believe this is evidence of a more significant back office service lapse, as we will see in my next point:
The Major:3) Prior to arrival, I was upgraded to a suite (reflected in app). Upon arrival, I was happily given the wonderful news that I had been "upgraded" to an Executive Room. Upon showing the clerk that I should be receiving a suite, she played dumb and refused to even consider looking into it or calling over someone else. I swallowed my pride and let it be, since it was only a one-night stay and in terms of general letter-of-the-law Spire benefits and this being Israel, I truly had already received above and beyond as it was.
Had this been more than one night, paid, or had they not offered the free breakfast, I would have fought it to the bitter end.
