Queen Elizabeth II (Elizabeth Alexandra Mary; born 21 April 1926) has died at the age of 96.
She was Queen of the United Kingdom and of 14 other sovereign countries. The Queen, who began her reign in 1952 at the age of 25, was the longest-serving British monarch ever, surpassing her great-great-grandmother, Queen Victoria.
