What a loss to klal yisrael and BP specifically to lose 2 of its greatest leaders in 1 week. these gedolim while different had a lot of similarities.
Both gedolim were extremely humble, accessible to all, did not belong to any party, were able to understand real issues through the eyes of our generation, always seeking for the truth, and were very hidden in their tzidkus. They both had an extreme love and yearning for kedushas eretz yisrael, i believe the Mashgiach had an apartment in the old city where he would spend summers (not sure about that) and the kossover rebbe would spend weeks at the kosel every year. That's where he wrote his seforim and would explain this is where the shechina is, so i want to spend as much time as possible in his proximity.
