Apparently he was hospitalized a few weeks ago. I'm surprised that it wasn't well known so people should daven for him.
There's a voicenote from him from the hospital
https://col.org.il/news/163849For me he represents an era.
He was the MC of the סיומי הרמב"ם, the first of which was a few months after I came to the US. He also would arrange the public menorah lighting in Manhattan at what was considered then the largest menorah (designed my Marc Chagall), which IINM started more or less at the same time (possibly a couple of years earlier). When I first came to the US my Yiddish wasn't that good, and he was up there in English, Hebrew, and even in Yiddish he spoke clearly enough for me to mostly understand. I can almost say that I grew up in Lubavitch with him often being at the forefront of PR.
He was also very personable, always greeting people with a smile and something nice to say in either of the 3 languages.
Whether one liked his style or not,he definitely was eloquent in three languages. And would eloquently convey messages of the Rebbe's sichos and directives in various venues.
