Le Marais?  Hmmm.  Not quite my budget  :( ...(and judging from the Issac Bitton story, I'm a bit wary about the Hashgocho situation anyways, but desert shouldn't be an issue  ;)), but I guess the company is the whole point here...

So..., please put me down as a maybe.

I don't remember the whole Megillah, but something like he used to be mashgiach there for the OU, and he claimed he was fired because he snitched on them using questionable ingredients...  It's probably Google'able (did that reach the dictionary yet?), check it out (or ask Mr. Bitton, he lives in CH).

$19.95 buys a steak, salad, and fries or mashed potatoes.

Umm, txtmax4 that's exactly why I was voicing my disappointment in the choice of venue (not that I am anyone of importance here, "just sayin' "), understand?

Those who fail to make suggestions have little right to be disappointed...

Honestly, I'm not a major restaurant goer, so I'm not the right guy who'd know all the right spots.  But even if I tried, the NYC Kosher restaurant scene is just so overwhelming, there are so so many places.

Hechsher-wise I'd think that a Milchig joint would be the best choice (IMHO), of which there are so many..,  to name a few interesting ones; Va Bene, Tiberias, coffee bean and tea leaf, Cafe K, Circa, My most favorite food, Noi Due, -and these are just in Manhattan.  I don't know much about them, but I'm sure that some of my esteemed DDF colleagues have the experience necessary.

It seemed as if you were saying that you'd like to hear feedback regarding the food from your fellow ddf colleagues.

Also, I don't understand what you're expecting to hear. You obviously don't have the same kasheus standards as your ddf colleague restaurant goers - as seen in a previous post where no one mentioned having any problems with eating in LM, and you said the kashrus isn't good enough for you.

So how would it help if they say the kashrus is good??

Getting too complicated, forget it (as far as you are concerned).

Not complicated at all. You say that your kashrus standards are higher than the others involved, , and then you ask for their input regarding other restaurants  ??? ???

Whoever is keeping the tally, we have one more confirmed elite attendee who would rather remain anonymous for now.
Checking the time zones of members posting makes it pretty obvious, but I will respect his privacy.

I never said that my "kashrus standards are higher than the others", what i said was that LM has a "history", most venues don't usually come with such baggage (or at least I'd like to think so).
And yes, I may not necessarily eat the same Shechita that others here eat, and all I said was that it's much simpler to eat in a milchig place.., but that wasn't my primary complaint, my main disappointment was the price.  And that's all it was, a personal  disappointment, I  didn't ask you (or anyone) to change the venue etc.., like I said "just sayin' "!  And if it would somehow happen that Dan decides to change the venue, won't hurt anyone (not that I'm expecting anything, for "who am I, anyways" :-X).

His time zone is eastern.  There are many members here in that zone.  How would that give it away?
