It's interesting how some route's are just more expensive, regardless of the fact that they are less miles. The distance to Florida is significally longer from NY, using more fuel, yet the prices are generally cheaper.

Supply and demand, competition etc.

It is way too late for that for me on this forum.

It took you almost 80 posts, but you finally said something clever...

Little example to the market price discussed before.

BRU-ZRH (1 hour flying) return costs often way more then BRU-ZRH-HKG (14 hours flying) return

Flying Swiss that is, and both passengers will be on the BRU-ZRH and ZRH-BRU together.

OK, Le Marais wants me to sign this ridiculousness.
Are there any NYC restaurants that actually want groups?

All parties of 15 or more MUST fill out a limited menu
Limited menu instructions:
Please choose 4 appetizers, 5 entrees and 3 desserts from the limited menu by circling them. Once you have made your choices, fax both pages back to us.

NO-SHOW POLICY:
ALL RESERVATIONS MUST BE CANCELLED 24 HOURS IN ADVANCE OR CREDIT CARD WILL BE CHARGED $100.00.
A MAXIMUM OF FOUR CREDIT/DEBIT CARDS CAN BE ACCEPTED FOR PAYMENT PER ONE RESERVATION

18% GRATUITY WILL BE ADDED TO ALL PARTIES OF 12 PEOPLE OR MORE.

I have no problem with no-show and 18% tip, but limited menu and 4 credit card limit?
Are they insane?

Open to new suggestions!

You can setup a poll trying to reach within 1 week 10,000 people that think that this treaty shouldn't be signed.

Can't we just be a party of 14 with a few 'extras showing up at the last minute'?

This limited menu sounds like they'll be preparing those items in advance and we won't even get fresh food.

That would avoid the limited menu issue.  We would still have the cc issue.  Although push comes to shove you'd have to imagine they would just swipe everyone's card rather than make a big deal over it.

Once we're done eating they won't have much of a choice. We're each offering to pay for our food and we were never aware of this 4 card limit.

I was recently in Abigail's with a large group (20+) and their POS POS system (pun) was an insane PIT@. Even after they agreed to let us pay with multiple credit cards, they had to ring each one up separately, selecting from all the items (even those that were paid for already) and they had to print all the CC receipts again each time around. It took literally 40 minutes to ring everyone up.

Their caps lock appears to be broken as well:

DANIEL,
WE ASK ALL GROUPS FIFTEEN, OR LARGER, TO FILL OUT A LIMITED MENU.  AS WELL, WE ONLY ACCEPT A MAXIMUM OF FOUR (4) CARDS TO BE USED.  I'M SORRY IF THIS IS INCONVENIENT FOR YOU, BUT THIS IS JUST OUR POLICY.

THANK YOU
KATHERINE

Should I reserve for 14?  Should we find someplace else?
