I recently ate at T Fusion. I had their Delmonico and it was AWESOME.
Disclaimer; I am not a food maven and haven't eaten in most of the other places mentioned here. this was just my experience
I happen to be a fan of T-Fusion... their buffalo chicken crisps are one of my top 3 appies, period.
I've also had their Delmonico... was less than impressed. Can't compare to the likes of Le Carne's Delmonico and PG's Tuesday Delmonico (FWIU).
Their Spencer steak and Pepper steak are above average though.
I've eaten at Deli Kasbah and La Marais, and I din't find anything there that would shchlep me into Manhattan specifically to eat there. I only eat in the city if I'm already in the area or coming to meet someone. Then again, I'm really not such a food person. But I think the overall theme of a DO is for people to meet each other. The food is secondary. And for most of us, Brooklyn was the easier place to meet.
I too have heard that T-Fusion is awesome. I can't imagine that Brooklyn doesn't have eateries that rival those in the city.
I'd agree that the main purpose of a DO would be to meet people. I only added that "food" bit as an afterthought.
But re:food - Had the steak strips at DK? What about their duck quackers appie (or whatever it's called)? Amazing.
