For me it's just nice to meet up with a bunch of like minded people, many who I've been communicating with for a few years now.

Considering that it took nearly a month to put this group together, you may have to wait another month for everyone to reassure you that they're still interested. I think AsherO should start collecting the funds. If anyone decides they want to back out for some reason, just open up another spot.
