Does anyone have experience with combining some nights from one person and some nights from the another person (all nights bought on DDF). How do I set it up so that I could also be on the reservation when I get there?

I usually call in advance and say I want to send my friend on a honeymoon and I pooled free nights from co-workers to send him, these are all the reservation numbers, don't want him to have any difficulties at checkin, please upgrade if possible. Etc.

I called a bit to the national number and they wouldnt do it but one rep told me that the hotel in house reservations may be willing to. I haven't finalized it yet because of logistical reasons but they told me they could do it without effort as long as the rooms match up...

i have spoken to numerous fairmont reps and they all claim that the free night cert needs to b transferred to the (buyer) recipient in order to make the reservation. problem is that only platinum account holders have the perk of transferring their certs. otherwise, the accountholder must check in to room or it will not be given out. if anyone had experience to the contrary please post
