« on: September 07, 2008, 02:08:13 AM »
Is there anywhere to buy a macbook book from other than directly from Apple?  Are there every any discounts or sales (ie Black Friday?)

Lots of retailers sell them.

Of the top of my head, some discounts I can think of:
Apple.com student discount.
MacMall (usually a tad cheaper than Apple retail prices and possibly no sales tax).

From what I've been reading, Apple is going to be unleashing macbooks in the near future.  Does that mean that you get more for your money or do the prices go up as well?

I don't think prices will go up.

However, if you don't care about having the latest technology, prices will drop on the current generation.

Since this is an old thread, maybe by now there is an answer to the OP...
Is there anywhere NOT SHADY to find Apple products cheaper than at the official Apple store?
I'm specifically looking for a brand new, not refurbished Ipad 2, if you know of any sites or even have one for sale please let me know.
Thanks!

If you don't need it now it might be worth to wait till march when ipad 3 comes out then either get the newer ipad or get ipad 2 for a discount

Any idea of the "projected" Ipad 3 price while we're at it?

Impossible to know for sure, but ipad 1 to ipad 2 transition it stayed the same price. So as long as its just an upgrade on specs, chance are it will stay the same.

I bet iPad 3 will see a price drop to bring it to more of the masses, maybe down to $399 for the base model.
Just an absolute guess though.

they can just continue to sell the ipad 2 at a lower price or they'll come out with the ipad mini

You're guessing $399 in March while Ipad2 is $499 today?

Go research the pricing history for the iPod generations.

Didn't imply that you're wrong in your forecst (hope you're right actually!), I'm clueless about anything Apple related so I was just wondering...
..Actually I'm not totally clueless, I do know one thing about Apple: IPHONE SUCKS!!  8)
