I wonder if restore messes with partition settings and wacks boot or mbr. (seen that before)
Is there a choice to get to Command Prompt?
I'm assuming you have same issue trying to get to Safe Mode..

It shouldn't mess with that, the fact that it keeps happening only after you use the backup/restore software would lead me to believe they're in someway connected.

I don't know that it happens ONLY after a restore. I just always happen to do the restore right after a fresh install.
Lenovo wants me to send it back to their depot again.

I can but it's weird because this time it happened a week after the restore, and last time it took 2 months after the restore till it started happening,  so its hard to know how long to wait.

What happens if you do a simple system restore to a day before it happened?

When trying to restore to a previous date it brings up an error that the restore cannot be completed

Try dif restore point, its very possible this is a virus and is completely unrelated to the backup.

Do this.
Did a fresh install using the lenovo restore disks and 2 days later I'm having the same issues. Sent it back to lenovo repair depot. What can possibly be the issue? They just replaced my Hard drive a few weeks ago.

Lemme review all the suggestions and I'll make a short roundup of all the pros and cons

Gimme a day or two I'm just finishing 2 Raid 5 Recoveries.

This thread is inactive for over a year.
Is there a followup thread to this?

FWIW, I'm very happy with crashplan.

Crashplan will do that to, for free. I've used a couple of other things in the past and wasn't very happy with them.

What's bad with Google Drive?
Does it automatically back up the whole PC, or only the GD folder?

What if you save everything in the GD folder?
I have all my files in GD.
