Propel World 40,000 Bonus

I recently got this card and met the minimum spend of $3,000. My statement closed and about 3,000 points posted to my rewards account. I decided to call up Wells Fargo to ask them when the 40,000 bonus points would post and I was told it would happen in 3 months, at the end of the 90 day period I have to meet the $3k spend. Has this been everyone else's experience or is this perhaps a new policy? They told me they're doing this because many people end up returning things after they got the bonus points. This seems absurd. I've never had a bank say something like this. They'll often say things like "Miles may take 1-2 statements to post", but you'll actually receive them in a few days after the statement closes.

Maybe a new thing I've gotten the bonus on 2 cards in the past couple of months. Both posted one statement after meeting spend. It is weird that they told you they are having the return problem.

Yeah. I thought it was all very weird. They're basically telling me they're going to assume everyone is a criminal. I certainly didn't expect anything like this.

Interesting. Chase told me my Ritz points would post within a few days of my first statement closing.
