Yes, that's why airlines have been raising anytime pricing and why united will as well this year.

But my 1cpm statement was only for actual money paid to partners.

recently tried the 2bm method for 2 personal alaska bofa cards and was approved for one. Just got a letter in the mail saying they believe the second app was a duplicate request and aren't processing it unless I call to let them know I meant to submit 2 different applications. Debating whether I should go ahead and call and explain I want one card for personal use and one card for work travel or something like that. Any thoughts?

Get that there's a different thread, but was responding to this post... and then, once I responded, might as well ask for thoughts... hopefully, you're only slightly offended, and not deeply offended, at such anarchic posting methods.

I'll probably call BofA tomorrow to see if they'll process the second app.

In Northwest v. Ginsberg, the Court held that the Airline Deregulation Act preempted state-law covenants of good faith and fair dealing in the context of frequent flyer programs, at least to the extent that they concern miles earned from actual flying.

ohoh. does this not mean that the airlines have full control of their miles? i.e. that selling them would be illegal (and they could win in court)? which would thus make it asur to sell? (i was told, though i don't hold by it, that the current mutar method of selling miles was that the airlines wouldn't win in court; i.e. that they don't have control).
