What are they asking for?

they asked for my ID. I gave it to them and it does not match the address which i put on file as is my parents address. They therefore shut the account after it was opened for 8 weeks and i booked a ticket for someone 2 days ago for a flight this week.

Well, if you would have used the address that's on your ID, you would have passed without issue.

Is there a reason you put your parents address? If not, you should be able to fight it...

Did you create your account and then transfer SPG? Was there a BOFA CC used to open the account? Was there any other activity in the account other than the SPG?

i created the account and then transferred the SPG. There was nothing else attached or any other activity.

I did not think there was anything wrong with that as they are not the FBI etc. I guess it is a lesson learnt. I attempted to explain that it is my parents. They responded that i went against the terms and conditions as on the date i opened the card i was not living there. etc.

Tell them that you did live in your parents house as well at that time. You could always photo shop a utility bill etc. Who says you are not allowed to live in two places?

If everything fails I would go back to SPG and ask them to reverse the transfer. Such an ugly way to try to save revenue

Threaten them that you will take them to SCC if they don't comply. No where in the T&Cs does it say that you are not allowed to live in 2 places. As long as you can provide documentation that you lived there. Does not need to be a photo ID. It worked for others. They are trying to save revenue but I don't think they are interested in getting into a fight that they will most likely lose and that will cost them more than the points which they are trying to save.

this is getting ridicilous! Do this, first file complaint with https://help.consumerfinance.gov/app/creditcard/ask and in that complaint , explain them what they are doing is fraud, scam , unfair and nothing what you is against terms and conditions .Also mention you will take them to court if they don't resolve this ASAP.

I did that. I told them i never violated any T&C and what Alaska IS DOING IS A pure scam, fraud and told them I am ready to take them to court for legal action.
You have to be angry, unhappy and feel scammed and be very bold in the complaint.
