« on: January 31, 2011, 08:04:52 AM »
If my points are expiring can I make a reservation at a hotel than cancel, when I cancel the points go back into my account- is that considered activity to extend the life of mhy points?

Try it, call back and ask when your points are expiring, and let us know!

Yes, as long as the points post to your starwood account before expiration. Points usually post within a few days of your statement closing.

my Starwood points are soon expiring, whats the best way to keep it alive besides staying or buying anything at the hotel and i dont have a Starwood AMEX?
will transfers to/from other members count as activity? transfers from/to airlines? any partners i.e. Energyplus? booking and canceling a stay?
how about earning points by answering the questions on this link https://www.audiencerewards.com/SPGonBroadway/trivia.cfm

will any of the above cound as activity to extend my points?

By the way Starpoints don't actually expire at 12 months, there's a 6 month grace period or so AFAIK.

You may want to check with them to confirm, I'm only reporting what I've read elsewhere.

Nice, hope he got the name.
Now he won't have to spend $10 at a SPG bar.

The waiter/bartender will know how to credit your Starpoints account by giving them your number.
