I have searched but could not find this topic addressed.
I need to make a United award TATL flight - 30K + approx $200.
I am not 100% sure that I will be able to make the trip however I am hoping to and I don't want to be stuck with no availability when I want to travel. If i purchase the travel protection for $27, will that cover the cancellation and redepositing miles fee ($150 I believe), or just the taxes and fees paid for the ticket?
ETA: I am booking a OW with AA miles from the USA to the UK and a OW return with the United points. Will using a specific CC for the taxes and fees on either/both of those flights give me medical coverage while in the UK? And does that card account have to be in the name of the passenger?
ETA#2: I found out that this insurance would cover all charges however it would only be in case of emergency...
Anyone have answer to medical coverage question?
